Singapore is a vibrant, forward-looking
city-state celebrated for its exceptional connectivity, thriving
innovation ecosystem, and rich, multicultural heritage. As a global
hub for research, technology, and advanced manufacturing, it
provides an ideal platform for international collaboration and
knowledge sharing. Visitors to Singapore will discover a safe,
impeccably clean, and highly efficient city with superb public
transport, world-class conference venues, and an impressive array of
cultural offerings, from historic neighbourhoods and lush green
spaces to award-winning culinary delights. Thanks to its strategic
position in Asia and its globally welcoming outlook, Singapore
creates a truly inspiring environment, perfect for both professional
engagement and unforgettable travel experiences.
Singapore enjoys a warm, tropical climate year-round, and
November is no exception: temperatures typically range from 25 °C to 31 °C (77
°F to 88 °F), with very high humidity. Lightweight, breathable fabrics like
cotton or linen are ideal, and comfortable walking shoes are a must.
Since November falls in the inter-monsoon period, brief rain showers and
occasional thunderstorms are common. It’s wise to carry a compact umbrella or a
light raincoat. Sunglasses and a hat are also useful for sunny spells.
Indoors and on public transport, air-conditioning is pervasive, so having a
light jacket or shawl on hand can help you stay comfortable when moving between
the hot outdoors and cool interiors.
English is widely spoken in Singapore—and it’s one of the country’s four official languages, along with Mandarin Chinese, Malay, and Tamil.
The currency in Singapore is the Singapore Dollar (SGD). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, especially in larger stores, hotels, and restaurants, but it’s wise to carry some cash for smaller shops and hawker centres.
Singapore is well connected to major cities around the world
through Changi Airport (SIN), one of the busiest and most awarded airports
globally. Changi Airport serves as a major international hub with direct flights
to over 120 countries.
The airport is conveniently located about 20 minutes from the city centre and
offers a wide range of transport options, including taxis, airport shuttles,
private hire cars, and the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system.
